I am a trained dancer, former cheerleading athlete, head coach, programme owner and national team manager for Team England (managing Team England ParaCheer to their first Gold medal at the ICU World Cheerleading Championships in 2017). I also currently the Chair of the Board at SportCheer England, the National Governing Body for Cheerleading in England.
Prior to my full-time move into Cheerleading, I spent 15 years working extensively as an education manager for dance companies and conservatoires in the UK, delivering continuing professional development to dance practitioners, and creating projects and resources for dance education, as well as lecturing at Post Graduate level on dance teaching methodology and community dance practice.
I now run a consultancy offering safeguarding and athlete welfare training, policy writing and consultancy for teams, gyms/studios, and competition event providers working in Cheerleading, Dance and Gymnastics.

Having previously undertaken professional study at a post-graduate level, I appreciate the rigour and thoroughness of the CCA Gold certification in leading coaches through a complete process that encompasses not just technical knowledge of cheerleading, but also appropriately places emphasis on understanding the role of anatomy, nutrition, sports psychology and performance, conditioning, injury prevention and communication. I am passionate about developing positive, safe cultures for athletes to thrive in, and the holistic approach of the CCA Gold certification puts athlete welfare at the heart of what it does, by developing well rounded coaches that understand measuring athlete success goes beyond trophies andtitles.
My consultancy Squad Safe offers safeguarding and athlete welfare training, policy writing and consultancy for teams, gyms/studios, and competition event providers working in Cheerleading, Dance and Gymnastics. I am also available for bookings to speak at conferences and events on the topic of athlete welfare and culture in Cheerleading.
I am based in the UK. I am happy to travel, but most of my courses can also be taken online via Zoom.
